Etienne Restaurant & Wine Bar

Etienne's restaurant offers a romantic ambiance perfect for dinner or a glass of fine wine

In the inlands of the island, Etienne Restaurant & Wine bar is an exclusive fine diner, the ideal place for a special occasion.

It reinvented the spaces in a 400 years old house situated in Attard, opening a small dining area on the second floor, composed by six candle lit tables, to give each guest the possibility to enjoy privacy and the full attention of the dedicated staff.

On the street level Etienne Restaurant & Wine bar offers a more casual atmosphere to enjoy a glass of wine in the square next to the local church.

Chef Etienne revisits Mediterranean cuisine and Maltese traditions with his personal touch, offering a carefully selected choice of starters, mains and puddings. We advise to adventure on the different creative specials offered, for instance Calves liver or Thai inspired boneless quails served with eastern spices and coconut milk.

Downstairs the attention is focused on the wine,  that you can chose from a list of 500 bottles from all over the world, that you might complement with a cold platter or a pasta dish.

Due to the size of the restaurant, booking is essential, and we advise you to reserve your table in advance to avoid disappointments.

Disaster from start to finish ... amateur cuisine, rude and agressive personnel. Not worth the money and the hassle to get to this place. Worst experience ever

Stay away!!! Completely a waste of your money! The service is literaly disasterous (and believe me, I am not exagerating!)

The waiters (who are the owners) have no idea what is customer service! To start off with, they have a menu just at the entrance of the restaurant, but when we sat at the table the waiter said that they only had specialities. The special starters were all pasta dishes! Is this a trattoria or is it a fine diner?!!! As main course specials they offered, angus ribeye, grilled angus ribeye, and tuna steak!

We had a look at the menu in the display and immediately noticed that the specials were exactly the same as the menu. When we asked, we were told that most of the items on the menu were not available any more!! It seems that even pint glasses were not available because we ordered drinks in pint glasses and were given half pint glasses and another can aside!!

During the order stage the waiter (who was sitting on a table just behind us smoking a cigarette) appeared angry. Not even one 'thank you', or 'please'!! When I informed him that I would like vegetables and no salad, he arrogantly said 'u dak mieghu jigi', which means 'that is served with all main courses'. Anyway he left without picking the menus and without saying 'thanks' or even 'enjoy it'. Following that he heard us talking between each other about the horrible service, at which point he came over and told one of us, 'are you going to teach me about my job'. Then he proceeded by saying, 'if you do not like it you can leave'!

At which point, rightly so we walked away from this horrible place!
