Hamrun Parish Church Immaculate Conception of MaryThe need of a church between Hamrun and Gwardamangia was deeply felt after the Second World War and thanks to the hard work of Fr Edgar Vella; the present church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of Mary was built. Soon after its opening to workship, it became the parish church of Hamrun in 1968. The Parish Church of St. Cajetan of Thiene became the official parish church of Hamrun in 1881.
