Practice Shaolin Kung Fu in Malta
The shows performed some time ago at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta by the Shaolin monks left those who attended speechless, with the impressive moves executed by these martial artists not likely to be easily forgotten.
Shaolin kung fu is now introduced in Malta under the direction of Jiao Shi Ghislain. Ghislain started to study Shaolin Kung Fu in France under the direction of Dan Schwartz (the great master who introduced Shaolin Kung Fu in Europe) and Tony Dehas and from shaolin monks. He was awarded his second degree black belt in 1997.
In 2000 and 2001, he was the champion of Normandie in various Kung Fu competitions (Gold medal in long and short weapons, silver medal in Chang Quan style & gold medal in fighting…) and he got a national silver medal in dao lu. And over his years of practise, he participated in many fighting tournaments in sanda and sanchu categories. In 2005, Ghislain went to live in China to go deeper in Chinese philosophy and their way of life.
He has now moved to Malta where he is trying to introduce Shaolin Kung Fu locally with the collaboration of Gaffiero Mon Lung Kung Fu Academy.
Kung fu is all about strength and flexibility, speed and precision, balance and determination. It was first a gymnastic to take care of the body and it has been developed to become the art we all know today. Kung Fu is not a mere sport, it makes all your body and your mind work, based on simple motions and on Chinese philosophy, it keeps you fit.
Lessons are held twice a week : Monday from 18h30 to 20h30 :Sparring and fighting techniques (sanda and sanchu style) Wednesday from 18h30 to 20h30 : Traditional Gong Fu (Taolu, acrobatic kicks, Qigong…)
