Feast of the Annunciation

Enjoy Tarxien when its mostly decorated

The Feast of the Annunciation is celebrated annually in the town of Tarxien in Malta. For a whole week, the town enjoys a festive mood, as it is wholly decorated in colourful lights, statues and other street decorations. Brass band marches are happening every evening on the days prior to the festa, accompanied by the traditional fireworks, toghether with the nougat and ice-cream stalls distributed around the village.

On the day of the feast of the Annunciation, there is a procession around Tarxien with the titular statue of the town followed by brass bands and a crowd of devotees.
