Feast of the Sacred Heart of Mary

Celebrate the festa toghether with the locals in Burmarrad

The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Mary is celebrated annually in the town of Burmarrad in Malta. For a whole week, the town enjoys a festive mood, as it is wholly decorated in colourful lights, statues and other street decorations. The Parish Church is also fully decorated in luxurious lights, damasc and carpets. Brass band marches are happening every evening on the days prior to the festa, accompanied by the traditional fireworks, toghether with the nougat and ice-cream stalls distributed around the village.

On the day of the feast of the Sacred Heart of Mary, there is a procession around Burmarrad with the titular statue of the town followed by brass bands and a crowd of devotees.
