Feast of St. Venera
Enjoy the festa just like the locals doThe Feast of St Venera is celebrated annually in the parish church of Santa Venera in Malta. During the days prior to the festa, the town has an intensive program of religious functions inside the church as well as more celebratory happenings all over town. Santa Venera would be fully decorated in colourful lights, statues, drapes and other street decorations. Brass band marches around the town take place every evening, accompanied by traditional fireworks and several nougat and ice-cream stalls for you to indulge in. On the day of the feast of St Venera, there is a procession around the town with the titular statue followed by brass bands and a crowd of devotees. The feast ends with an incredible fireworks display that lasts for around 30 minutes.
