The Feast of The Transfiguration of Our Lord is celebrated annually in the small town of Lija in Malta. The week preceeding the festa has a programme of brass band marches along the streets of Lija accompanied by great fireworks. Lija is particularly famous for its fireworks, it is said to be among the best in the Maltese Islands. Apart from all this, you can see the streets completely decorated with colourful lights, drapes, statues and festoons. 

On the day of the feast of The Transfiguration of Our Lord, there is a procession around the town with the titular statue followed by brass bands and a crowd of devotees.
