The Feast of St. Lawrence is celebrated annually in Birgu in Malta. During festa time, Birgu becomes alive, enjoying great celebrations and loads of street decorations - colourful lights, statues and so on. Brass bands march along the streets every evening on the days prior to the festa, accompanied by spectacular fireworks, and several nougat and ice-cream stalls distributed around the village.

On the day of the feast of Birgu, there is a procession around the town with the titular statue of St. Lawrence followed by brass bands and a crowd of devotees. Festas are very important events in Malta, as they show the culture and devotion of  the Maltes population.
