Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Series

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra Concert Series is back for the 2012-2013 season! Michael Laus, the resident conductor will open the series Carmine Lauri - the internationally-acclaimed violinist and co-leader of the London Symphony Orchestra who will play one of Bruch's most exciting and well known works.

The programme starts with Beethoven's portrayal of Coriolanus, the ancient Roman leader who leads an army of former enemies to Rome's gates, leading to his death. The evening will close with Brahms' first symphony, which is known for its particular orchestral textures, delicate musings and lush melodies.
