Traditional folk music given a contemporary touch

The Malta Mediterranean Folk Music Festival, also known as the Ghanafest will be held once again in 2012. This great 3-day event brings together Mediterranean folk music, including Maltese għana or folksongs, Maltese songwriters and folk ensembles with guest musicians from neighbouring Mediterranean countries.

During Għanafest you can also attend a number of workshops about traditional instruments. There will also be a special programme for children which is complemented by a selection of traditional Maltese food. The Malta Malta Mediterranean Folk Music Festival - Ghanafest 2012  will be held at the peaceful setting of the Argotti Botanical Gardens in Floriana.
