The 6th edition Isle of MTV Malta - 2012
Will.i.am headlining this year's concert
The Isle of MTV Malta Special will be held once again in 2012, exactly on the 26th of June at the Granaries in Floriana. Over the years, the Isle of MTV gained an incredible reputation to be the largest free open air concert in Europe; and the 6th edition of the Isle of MTV is expected to be the biggest one ever, attracting an audience of around 50,000 music lovers.
Senior Vice President of MTV, Antonio Canto, announced that Black Eyed Peas’ front man Will.i.am will headline the act for Isle of MTV Malta 2012. He also said that the previous concerts have been hugely successful in helping artists promoting themselves in the European market. Such is the example of Lady GaGa who first performed at Isle of MTV in 2008 as a relatively unknown artist, a year later returning to headline the concert.
The biggest and best concert ever
With the presence of Will.i.am already confirmed, this year’s edition promises to be the biggest and best ever. Will.i.am has already won seven Grammy Awards, and he’s due to release a new single in the coming months, featuring Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger.
MTV will capture the Isle of MTV Malta Special on cameras to be able to broadcast it on all their channels two weeks after the event.
