Viennese Night
A beautiful night of classical music, ballet and opera singing
The Viennese night was held on the 30th December, 2011, bringing together the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the famous Italian conductor Damiano Binetti, dancers from the Vienna Ballet and an impressive opera singer that contributed to an evening of magic just after the Christmas festivities passed.
Classic pieces from classical composers
The night included an impressive selection of classical pieces composed by famous musicians such as Strauss, Suppe and Offenbach, with a programme that included the famous Emperor’s Waltz, Trish-Tratch polka, the Can Can, Carmen and many other famous jolly waltzes and entertaining polka dances. The performance glued the audience to their seats as the ballet dancers brought the music to life, sometimes with a little bit of humour too. On the other hand, Luisa Albrecthova, an incredible soprano singer charmed all those present with her powerful voice.
Stylish, beautiful and magical
The Viennese night was one of the classiest ways of ending 2011, as it was held just the day before New Year’s Eve. The evening was dominated by glamour as numerous music lovers flocked to the posh Grandmaster Suite of the Hilton hotel in Portomaso, Malta dressed in their best dresses and suits. It was a truly magical evening that filled the hearts of those present with warmth and Viennese spirit just before the end of the year 2011.
