Gharghur Cultural Tour
Discover the small village of Gharghur in a cultural tourThis year, the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts (MCCA) is launching a new series of Cultural Tours. These tours are meant to enhance the understanding of the Maltese culture and increase the knowledge of the Maltese historical heritage, traditions and skills. There will be a eight such tours organized for the 2011-2012 season, the last one being on Saturday the 19th May, 2012. You will be accompanied by professional guides who will hold the tour in both Maltese and English. Transport leaves from two pick up points - from the Phoenicia hotel in Floriana and the Nazzarenu Church, Sliema leaving at 08:45. Throughout the tour you'll be able to explore the cute town of Gharghur, visiting amongst others the church of the Assumption (taż-żellieqa). There will also be a short walk along the historical Victoria Lines up to San Brincat Cave. From Gharghur you go to the nearby village of Attard to visit the Attard Parish Church, St. Paul's Chapel and the Malta Railway & Traditional Crafts mini museum. You can book for one or more tour with reduced prices for children and senior citizens. Bookings must be made by the Wednesday before the tour. |
