Fomm Ir-Rih Bay
Fomm ir-Rih is one of the wildest and most secluded beaches in MaltaFomm Ir-Rih Bay lies near Bahrija and it is the most isolated and wildest beach on Malta but also one of the most beautiful ones. Fomm Ir-Rih is pebbly and is favourite among snorkelers, divers and to people who like secluded beaches. Fomm Ir-Rih Bay’s remote beach offers fantastic views of cliffs, valleys, deep blue Mediterranean Sea as well as peace and tranquillity and is well worth a visit. Fomm Ir-Rih Bay’s offers crystal clear blue waters and is a perfect place to swim when the sea is calm. When the winds blow from the north or northwest swimming is not recommended as it is dangerous with the rolling waves. The only way down to the secluded Fomm Ir-Rih Bay is via a rough, tricky and sometimes steep and slippery pathway taking around 20 minutes. Be aware that the return climb in 30°C (and over) heat and sun is not recommended for unfit persons, children and elderly. The beautiful waters at Fomm Ir-Rih provide not only excellent snorkelling and diving but fishing as well. Fomm Ir-Rih is not only one of the wildest and most beautiful spots on the Maltese islands for swimming but also for walking. Getting to Fomm Ir-Rih Bay:Drive to Rabat and then follow the signs to Bahrija. Drive through Bahrija’s main road and take the first right. Approximately 2 km further, when the road begins going downhill, take another right. You will end up in a small car park. At the car park you will see a small footpath leading to the bay that runs along a ledge, therefore be extremely careful. |
