Met Opera: Rigoletto - Giuseppe Verdi

Watch Rigoletto  broadcasted live in Malta

Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi will be screened live and encore as part of the Met Opera 2012-13 programme in Valletta. The broadcast of the live performance will be held  on 16th February at 19:00 and an HD recorded screening on 23rd March at 19:00.

We will see the rising talented Italaian conductor Michele Mariotti leading the new production premiere of Rigoletto. It will also be seen in a new staging by the Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer in his Met debut so make sure that you don't miss this opera.

The story is moved to Las Vegas in 1960 from Italy in Mayer's approach, with a cast led by Željko Lučić in the title role, Diana Damrau as his daughter, Gilda, Piotr Beczala as the Duke of Mantua, Štefan Kocán as the assassin Sparafucile, and Oksana Volkova as Sparafucile’s seductive sister, Maddalena.
